playing chess breeds
success.
Chess is powerful. Many studies have shown chess to
provide children with higher test problem-solving abilities and
higher test scores than non-chess players. The skills utilized in
chess transfer well to all aspects of school and life, including
patience, long and short term planning, good sportsmanship,
and understanding consequences.
Motivational tools. Workouts. Ratings. Bonus points.
Award certificates. Thinking belts. Thinking tags. These are the
tools that help us use chess to teach success, so students
discover the value of practice, patience and persistence . We
inspire individual excellence and build a culture of learning
throughout our academy.
Comprehensive chess curriculum
Our Chess Workouts software takes the work out of learning
chess. Most importantly, the Workouts aren’t just about
teaching chess. They’re a way to use chess to teach critical
thinking skills, focus, discipline and build self-esteem.

chess notation, opening strategy and tactics, this introduction to the Think Like A King
learning series contains 30 chapters, dozens of animations, unique challenges, plus 165
interactive puzzles. Combined with classroom instruction it makes learning chess a snap.

Already know how the pieces move? Familiar with special moves like en passant and castling?
Then this course, via classroom instruction and interactive puzzles, is designed to help players
master basic tactical, checkmate, opening and endgame concepts. From Pins to Forks and
Skewers, pattern recognition and combination attacks, to the tactics of Pawn Promotion, to the
why and not just how of opening play, you’ll learn the rules that let you create a winning
position—or prevent your opponent from gaining one.
Intermediate (3rd grade—adult)
This follow up to the Advanced Beginner course explores the use of all the important chess
tactics and checkmate thinking in more complex situations. Intermediate players will learn
how to launch attacks over several moves, and gain material or positional advantage via the
use of more sophisticated tactical and checkmate ploys. Our classroom instruction and
interactive puzzles make obtaining this level of play easier than you can imagine.
