This chess board is imported from Spain. The Spanish have developed an esteem reputation as the best in the world at making
fine wood veneer chess boards.
This is a natural wood product. Therefore, the wood grain and color may vary slightly from chessboard to chessboard.
The reduction in board thickness from the standard 3/4 of an inch to 3/8 of an inch has enabled the manufacturer to use the same
quality wood veneers on a lighter weight core thereby reducing material and shipping costs. Since the thinner board costs less to
make, and less to ship, the price is lower than what you might expect to pay for the same quality 3/4" thick chess board.
