The King Arthur Round Table Chess Set is a medieval themed chess set fashioned in the tradition of the
legendary King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.  Merlin, Guinevere, and Sir Lancelot are all
present.  Cold-cast  in polystone, intricately detailed and hand-painted, this King Arthur chess set comes
complete with thirty-two, heavily-weighted  chessmen including a large 4" king. The optional chess
board/cabinets has a built-in storage compartment that accommodates the chess set's fitted tray which
provides individual and protective slots for each chess piece.

There were several objects that played an important role in the stories and legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the
Round Table. The most obvious was the Round Table which was given to Arthur as Guinevere's dowry when they were
married. The Table became the place where the Knights gathered and symbolized equality, unity, and oneness.

There was also Excalibur, the beautiful, magical sword that was given to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake. Excalibur was
extremely powerful and at the Last Battle of Camlann, Arthur had Bedivere throw Excalibur back into the lake from
whence it came. Finally, there was the Holy Grail. Much of Arthurian Tradition hinges on the Quest for the Grail.


As you can see, there are several items which are inseparably associated with King Arthur and his Knights of the
Round Table.  While it probably would be a bit impractical to own a 1-1/4 ton, 18' diameter Round Table, or to set out on
